The most popular cricket tournament of the year, Indian Premier League 2013, or the IPL 2013, will start on 3rd April, 2013. This is the sixth season of the tournament, so its called IPL 6 2013. The cricket fever will be ‘on’ for two months, as the IPL 6 2013 will end on 26th May, 2013.
All the details about IPL 2013 have been released officially. This year, a total of 9 teams will be competing to be the best cricket team of the year. There will be a total of 72 matches between the teams. Then, there will be 2 qualifier matches, followed by an elimination match and then finally the IPL 6 2013 final.
The IPL 6 2013 time table has been created very carefully this year. Last year, duringIPL 5, a lot of cricket veterans were complaining about the issue of ‘too much cricket’. This was because the IPL 5 was scheduled after only a few days of ICC Cricket World Cup. The critics argued that too much cricket is causing fatigue and injuries in the players, leading to their pre-mature retirement.
Another issue that we saw last year was that many of the stadiums were empty as the cricket fans of India were bored of too much cricket.
